FOILS

Foils have long been a method for creating unique surfaces on many substrates, leather included. My first experiments with some of the available foils and films were with João Carvalho in Torres Novas, Portugal. Since then I’ve played with them quite a bit, combining the foils with further leather finishing methods, laser engravings, and shoe finishing techniques. The possibilities for these ideas are remarkable, especially for pushing beyond footwear and leather goods-specific applications.
